Cookie Notice

PlayNerva uses one cookie, to keep you signed in. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and no other company sets cookies through our site. We count visits with cookieless analytics on our own server, which store nothing that identifies you. That's why you don't see a cookie banner.

Which cookies do you set?

These are essential: without them you can't sign in. On the live site their names start with __Secure- or __Host-, which tells the browser to send them only over encrypted connections.

  • authjs.session-tokenKeeps you signed in. Scripts can't read it, and it's only sent to PlayNerva.30 days, renewed while you use the site; deleted when you sign out
  • authjs.csrf-token, authjs.callback-urlProtect the sign-in step and remember which page to return you to.Until you close the browser

What else is saved in my browser?

A few small items go in your browser's local storage instead of a cookie. They stay on your device and aren't sent to us with every request.

  • pg_guest_idA random id for playing while signed out, so a game can keep your progress and count your play once.Until you clear site data
  • pg_ls_…Progress and settings a game saves for you, one item per game.Until the game clears it or you clear site data
  • pg_pending_createThe game you asked for while signed out, so the studio can build it after you sign in.Removed when you return; ignored after an hour
  • Studio layoutWhether you collapsed a pane in the studio.Until you clear site data
  • pg:playtest-fix:…Which playtest findings you already asked the studio to fix.Until you clear site data
  • pg_signup_tracked, pg_checkout_packMake sure our visit statistics count a new account or a credit purchase once. They hold your account id and the pack's price, and are never sent anywhere.Until you clear site data; the second until you close the tab

Games run in a sandbox on a separate domain, so they can't read PlayNerva's cookies. What a game saves is kept for it under pg_ls_… above, and games can also save data with us, as described in the Privacy Policy.

How do I remove them?

Signing out deletes the session cookie. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser's settings at any time. If you block cookies for PlayNerva, you can still browse and play games, but you won't be able to sign in.

What if this changes?

If we ever add analytics or anything else that isn't essential, we'll list it here first, prefer tools that don't need cookies, and ask for your consent before setting any cookie that needs it.
